In December, Amsterdam transforms into a beautiful fairytale world. Modern artists from all over the world create spectacular works of light art that transform Amsterdam's city centre into a beautiful open-air light museum. 

The theme of the 11th edition of the Amsterdam Light Festival is Imagine Beyond. This theme takes you into the world of imagination. Be inspired by the twenty light artworks against the winter backdrop of Amsterdam and Imagine Beyond. The art collection of the anniversary year will consist of artworks from the past nine editions and new artworks.

The best way to celebrate Amsterdam Light Festival is with a canal cruise. That way you will have the best view of the light art while you can relax and take it all in. You can experience the Light Festival from regular closed boat, with an audio guide (in Dutch or English). This audio tells you more about the beautiful light installations you see during the route in. This year's Amsterdam Light Festival takes place from 1 December 2022 to 22 January 2023. The departure locations are the quay of LOVERS Canal Cruises at Prins Hendrikkade 25 in Amsterdam.
